Complex control is required to control all the nodes for a Smart Meter System. Huge signal traffic from the hundreds of smart meters requires constant processing, slowing operations and requiring a large memory capacity.

Scheduling collection of AMR data from each meter. Data collection capacity has been enlarged by using concentrator initiative control instead of meter initiative access control.

Reducing the volume of mesh control signaling traffic.

Using low volume relay to speed operations and reduce required memory capacity.

Advanced Security Performance

Mitsubishi Electric has developed a state-of-the-art cryptographic algorithm which has been adopted as a global standard for protecting information used by electric power companies. The code is maintained by self-update processing for long-term, maintenance-free operation.

Early Detection of Tampering

Early detection is enabled by remote monitoring of the state of the meter at optional interval.

On-line Prepayment Assures Payment Collection

On-line prepayment capability assures payment for electricity usage. Remote monitoring of electricity usage also enables timely detection and response to malfunctions.

When a credit balance becomes low, the service center can notify the customer by email or SMS. Customers who do not pay can be dealt with remotely by activating a centralized disconnection switch.
