Premium motors are high-performance, low-consumption energy motors in which loss (primary and secondary copper loss, iron loss, stray load loss and mechanical loss) has been minimized. Because they surpass the IE3^*1 high efficiency standard level for induction motors, they can save energy in machinery.

Installation is compatible with standard Mitsubishi Electric motors, so models can be directly switched in the same space.

S-PM (Sensorless-Permanent Magnet) is a product that combines a specially developed permanent magnet motor with Mitsubishi’s original sensorless control technology. This provides the velocity control demanded in a servo motor while also offering the advantages of high motor efficiency.

• High efficiency: Uses a permanent magnet to increase motor efficiency, save on energy and reduce CO2 emissions.
• Compact and light: Far smaller and lighter than an equivalent induction motor
  (20-40% smaller than a standard Mitsubishi Electric geared motor (induction motor))
• Highly accurate velocity control: Without an encoder, it still delivers the highly accurate velocity control demanded in a servo motor.

• Simple position holding function: A pre-excitation function provides simple position holding when stopped.

When used with the FR-E700EX and FR-A7NC (option), velocity in multiple S-PM geared motors can be precisely controlled via CC-Link communication.
