Operation environment

User	This stand-alone version has to be used by a user who has administrative authority for the computer. # The following procedures are to check if a user has administrative authority or to authorize a user as an administrator.
User Check Procedure	①Select "Control Panel" in Windows. --> Click on "User Accounts" and "Change Account Type". ②On "User Accounts" screen, select a user and double-click on it. ③Select "Computer Administrator" and click on "OK" to authorize the user.
Encrypted File	This software cannot be installed in an environment where files are encrypted. Check whether the downloaded installer has been encrypted or not following the procedure below. Installation is enabled by cancelling the setting if it is encrypted. # Right-click the self-extracted folder and select [Properties]. # Click [Advanced...] on the [General] tab. # Remove the tick if “Encrypt contents to secure data” is ticked.

Installation

(1)If the previous version is already installed, uninstall the currently-installed program.
Click on "Start" --> "Programs" --> "Servo Selection" --> "Servo Selection Ver*.**" --> "uninstall Ver*.**".
Or select "Control Panel" --> "Add/Remove Programs" --> "Servo Selection" and delete it.

(2)Download the following software in any one folder in a PC.
(3)Double-click on each downloaded file, and then the files will self-extract.
(4)A folder labeled "Servo Selection" is created during self-extracting.Double-click on [setup.exe] in Servo Selection to install the software.
# The default installation folder is C:\Servo Selection\.

[Note] If your OS is Windows Vista or later, this tool may not work when installed
under C:\Program Files\. Therefore, do not install it under C:\Program Files\.

Usage

Follow the procedure below to use the stand-alone version.

(1)Start NC Servo Selection (The start method changed on March,3,2009.）
Click on "Start" --> "Program" --> "NC Servo Selection" --> "NC Servo Selection Ver*.**"-->"Start NC Servo Selection"

# (Note) If you run Stand-Alone Version on a LAN-connected PC, configure the following setting. Select as below in Windows to open [LAN Setting] screen.
Click [Start] --> [Control Panel] --> [Network and Internet] --> [Internet Options] --> [Connections] --> [LAN Settings].
Uncheck the box next to “Use a proxy server for your LAN” on [Proxy Server] of [LAN Setting] screen.
(2)Stop NC Servo Selection
Quit this S/W (close the browser).
Right-click the icon in the task tray and click "Exit".

Uninstallation

If you uninstall the previous version in order to install the new version:

(1)Follow the procedure below to uninstall the currently-installed program.
　　Click on "Start" --> "Program" --> "Servo Selection" --> "Servo Selection Ver*.**" --> "uninstall Ver*.**".
　　Or select "Control Panel" --> "Add/Remove Programs" --> "Servo Selection" and delete it.

# If input selection condition data is already stored, the stored data will be retained to the new version by going through the following steps; uninstall the previous version as above, install the new version and then carry out "Start Servo Selection" first.　Afterward, carry out "Start Servo Selection" to check if the input data is retained to the new version.　When it is confirmed that the data is retained properly, carry out "Stop Servo Selection" to enable the deletion of folders and files in the previous version.　The default installation location of the previous version is [C:\Program Files\Servo Selection\Servo Selection Ver*.**]. When the previous version is practically installed in this default folder, all the folders and files contained in this folder and this folder itself can be deleted. "Ver*.**" as in "Servo Selection Ver*.**" indicates the previous version number.　These folders and files in the previous version do not have to be deleted at this time. 　Note that the previous data will fail to be retained if you go through the following steps; delete the folders and files in the previous version before the input selection condition data is retained to the new version. Because by deleting the folders and files, the input data will be deleted together.

If you uninstall the previous version before deleting all the folders, files and system data sources:

(1)Follow the procedure below to uninstall the currently-installed program.
　　Click on "Start" --> "Program" --> "Servo Selection" --> "Servo Selection Ver*.**" --> "uninstall Ver*.**".
　　Or select "Control Panel" --> "Add/Remove Programs" --> "Servo Selection" and delete it.

(2)After uninstallation as in (1) above, an installation folder and folders and files contained in the folder still remain. Open Explorer to delete all the folders and files in the installation folder and delete the installation folder itself.
(The default installation location is [C:\Program Files\Servo Selection\]. If the previous version is installed in this location, all the folders and files contained in this folder and the folder itself will be deleted.)

# All the previous input data will be deleted and they will not be retained to the new version in the following case; the step (2) as above are carried out when the input selection condition data is previously stored.
